Hi Ricky,
I was at the Manchester concert on the 22nd November & would just like to say that was the best concert I've been to in years. So glad you guys are still as impressive as you were when I last saw you at Birmingham in 1990. Yes, Im ashamed to say I left it so long before coming back to one of your gigs. Will definitely be coming back in future. As my daughter is Scottish, I've been getting her into your stuff and I'm amazed to say, for a 17 yr old she is getting hooked. Anyway, best of luck in everything you do in the future.

Hello Ricky.

Its always great to find out your covering for Iain,it gives me a reason to turn tv off and discover some new music, something i should do more often.
On previous appearances you have already put me onto some new artists especially KD lang and her album hymns of the 49th parallel.
Anyways looking forward to the week ahead, and hearing some of your tales.
Me and my partner went to 3 of your shows and im very excited to hear there's gonna be a DVD were hoping its one of the shows we were at because we were on the front row for 2 of the gigs .

Good to have you back on here Ricky and i loved the Deacon Blue shows i got to see this month... Friday night in Glasgow was a mad end to a special day. Saturday show in Glasgow was a great crowd and loved Homesick that night and was stunned you a) did That Country and b) it sounded like it had never been out the setlist. Dundee seemed pretty special too and i loved hearing Bound to Love and Walking Back Home then. I think my favourite was London... was kind of emotional hearing the thank you's during Walking Back Home and wondering when we'll get the chance to se the band tour again. Thanks for playing a decent number of anorakish requests too!

And incidentally, I have to agree when it comes to hearing songs I don't know so well. When it comes to your own back catalogue I have to say that I know it so well that it's only the covers that are often a revelation, much like your choice of songs on this show. It's also a reason I love the solo gigs -- for the chance to hear the songs shine in stripped-down versions, and to hear you talk about your craft.

That said, I still found myself singing along last Sunday when the moment lent itself, so it's all good.

Ricky!

It's so, so great to have you back on the air, although it was only by chance that I discovered you were back on the airwaves via the Deacon Blue site! And the reason I was there? I'm still on something of a high from having been at the Hammersmith Apollo show last Sunday night.

I actually managed to miss your visit there of just over a year ago as I was on a long weekend away in Norfolk. A great weekend it was too, but I often rued the fact that I missed yourself and the band being in town and so jumped at the chance to be there this time around.

And thank you so much for a great night. I'd not seen you on stage since you played at The Troubadour in Earls Court a couple or so years back but this night at once lent me a hint of nostalgia whilst also reassuring me that Deacon Blue still sound as wonderful as ever they did. I was there with a long-time fan who'd never seen you live before and he was blown away too. Your own songs sounded like old friends, and the choice of covers as ever blended with them perfectly. I was struck with more than a shade of melancholy to think that may have been the last time you ever tour as a band, but felt priviledged to have been there if indeed it was.

I've had one helluva week at work this week, and in fact have worked for 12 days on the trot (to which you must be able to relate at this end of the tour!) so to hear both your good self and your exquisite choice of music back on the radio is the perfect tonic.

You're here all next week? Then so am I.

All the best,

Adam
